Combined Session #HP558, Let's Get Connected - Connecting Medical Students to Rural Communities

DESCRIPTION
Let’s Get Connected is a planned experience for medical students participating rural clerkship based on physician recruiting models. LGC places students with community members and healthcare providers who can provide perspectives of rural practice and living to develop a pipeline of future recruits to choose a rural area to practice.

DESCRIPTION
Northeast KY AHEC established a new health careers pipeline program called STEPS. This program is to give rural pre-med students a competitive edge for acceptance into a medical school of their choice.
